The progress of disease-modifying therapies is beginning to transform outcomes for patients with NMDs. In an interview with VJNeurology , Professor Massimiliano Filosto, University of Brescia, Italy, highlighted that: “This new era is characterized by a paradigm shift from symptomatic management to targeted disease-modifying therapies. With the emergence of gene replacement strategies, antisense oligonucleotides and RNA modulating agents, we can now intervene at the molecular level to alter the natural history of diseases.”
Despite this, many patients still lack effective disease control, and navigating diagnosis, symptom management, and long-term outcomes remains complex.
In this evolving landscape, access to up-to-date information and education is essential for healthcare professionals (HCPs). Yet keeping pace with the continuous stream of new information is no easy task. According to a recent HCP survey, clinicians would need to read for 21 hours a day to maintain their knowledge status.1
How VJNeurology is Facilitating NMD Education
To help address these challenges, VJNeurology has launched The Neuromuscular Disorders Channel . This open-access educational platform is tailored to HCPs and provides the latest insights and expert-led content, covering a broad range of topics from diagnostics to novel therapies, and multidisciplinary care approaches.
The platform offers flexible learning formats to suit individual learners, with expert interviews, podcasts, written features, and roundtable discussions. To help HCPs find the content they want easily, content has been curated according to NMD subtype. The most recent interviews can be easily found by navigating to the Latest Videos.
Why This Matters Now
The Neuromuscular Disorders Channel bridges the gap between research and clinical practice to support informed decision-making for patients with rare and complex NMDs.
We believe that impactful medical education is built on collaboration. If you represent a research institution, professional society, or patient advocacy group focused on NMDs, we invite you to partner with VJNeurology. Please get in touch here to discuss this with a member of our team.
Our commitment to providing open-access education is made possible through the independent support from our industry partners. If you are interested in supporting The Neuromuscular Disorders Channel or one of our other channels, please get in contact with us here .
