Bringing 2025’s biggest lung cancer breakthroughs to a global audience: Highlights from the Advances in Lung Cancer Webinar

As the pace of innovation in thoracic oncology continues to accelerate, staying current with the most impactful clinical data can be challenging for healthcare professionals (HCPs) and researchers. Recognizing this need, Magdalen Scientific , the events arm of Magdalen Medical Publishing, hosted a live webinar, Advances in Lung Cancer 2025 Highlights, designed to distil some of the year’s most important developments into an accessible expert-led educational program. In collaboration with VJOncology as official media partner, the event brought together leading clinicians and an international audience to review and discuss the latest evidence shaping lung cancer care.

Showcasing key developments in lung cancer from 2025

The webinar, held on 1 December 2025, focused on abstract-driven updates from key major global congresses: ASCO, WCLC, ELCC, and ESMO. With an expert-selected agenda , the program highlights some of the most practice-changing and clinically meaningful advances in lung cancer.

Chaired by Professor Sanjay Popat , and supported by Dr Mariana Brandão and Dr Gregory Riely as moderators, the webinar featured a series of concise, 5-minute presentations grouped into thematic sessions. These were complemented by live panel discussions and audience Q&A, creating an opportunity for in depth review and contextualization of data, with real-time exchange between faculty and participants.

Creating a global learning opportunity
With attendees spanning Europe, North America, South America, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, the webinar fulfilled its aim to provide congress updates to clinicians worldwide. Many HCPs cannot attend every major meeting or may have missed critical session amidst increasingly full congress programs.

The webinar addressed this gap by offering:

·       Expert selection and curation by the webinar chair of the most relevant abstracts

·       Concise, clinically orientated presentations of new data

·       KOL-led interpretation to understand the real-world impact of the findings

·       Interactive Q&A, giving the audience direct access to global experts

Extending the reach of the webinar
For those unable to join live, the presentations and panel discussions are now freely available on VJOncology ( available here ), extending the value of the event and supporting ongoing education across the oncology community.

This event was made possible thanks to its supporters. The webinar was supported by Johnson & Johnson and Regeneron. AstraZeneca provided a sponsorship grant towards this independent program.
