Expanding global stroke education: Reflections on the Post-WSC 2025 Highlights webinar

On 2 December 2025, clinicians and researcher from around the world joined the Post-World Stroke Congress (WSC) Highlights webinar, an online event developed by Magdalen Scientific , the events arm of Magdalen Medical Publishing, and chaired by Professor Valeria Caso , with Dr Bijoy Menon and Dr Aristeidis Katsanos moderating. Designed to summarize and contextualize the most important updates from the 17th World Stroke Congress, the webinar offered an expert-led, highly focused review of chair-selected abstracts for a global neurology healthcare professional (HCP) audience. With VJNeurology as the media partner, this event was intended as an opportunity to provide a novel, accessible educational activity for the stroke HCP community.

Introducing a new format for stroke education
While Magdalen Scientific has previously delivered broad neurology-focused highlights sessions including Translating Novel Diagnostics into Practice: Updates for Neurodegenerative Diseases and Evolving Strategies in Stroke Management , this webinar represents VJNeurology’s first congress-specific highlights webinar. Building on the proven successful format used by sister journals, VJHemOnc and VJOncology , the session combined bitesize presentations with expert panel discussions and audience engagement via live Q&A.

Providing education to suit HCP needs
The webinar drew participants from 28 countries across North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Oceania. The breadth of location of participants highlights the continued need for open-access, virtual learning opportunities, particularly for clinicians unable to attend major international meetings or looking to deepen their understanding of specific topics.

We also understand that due to time constraints and demands on their time, HCPs may not have been able to join the live webinar. This is why we have created on-demand content from the webinar, with both presentations and panel discussions available as open-access education. You can view all the resources here .
